Fall Audubon Talk: Black Birders and the Deep South

The arrival of #BlackBirdersWeek, in the wake of numerous racial injustice demonstrations across the US earlier this year, shone a much-needed light on Black leaders in outdoor professions, connecting Black birders to one another across the nation and in their own local communities. But how does the Deep South fit into a larger conversation about diversity in the birding world? Join us for a panel talk facilitated by our Black Belt Coordinator Meg Ford with Christian Cooper, Dr. Rashidah Farid, Chris Joe, Dr. Drew Lanham, Corina Newsome, and Jason Ward as we hold a lens to the Deep South’s specific needs for a more inclusive future in birding.
